Lora Based Weather Station

Campaign Image 1

Story

Nepal is a mountainous country with many remote and high altitude regions where accurate and timely weather information is difficult to obtain. Sudden changes in temperature rainfall wind and pressure often affect farming trekking aviation and disaster response yet most rural communities do not have access to reliable local weather stations. As a result people depend on guesswork or distant forecasts which increases the risk of crop loss travel accidents and delayed emergency warnings. The LoRa based Weather Station is designed to solve this problem by collecting real time environmental data such as temperature humidity atmospheric pressure rainfall and wind from remote locations. These sensors are connected to a low power microcontroller that transmits the data using long range LoRa wireless communication which works well even in hilly areas with weak internet and mobile signals. The data is received by a central gateway and uploaded to the internet where it can be viewed on a web dashboard or mobile application.
